POSITION SUMMARY Plan, coordinate and implement Brandt’s safety, health and environmental protection programs, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards and industry regulations, and promoting a safe, incident-free work environment for Brandt employees. What you’ll do: Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture, helping Brandt create and maintain a behavior-driven safety program. Purposefully monitor, correct and educate the workforce on issues relating to workplace health and safety. Conduct worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous conditions, proper use of equipment, proper material handling and use of PPE. Conduct and coordinate housekeeping inspections and safety audits with special emphasis on hazard recognition, unsafe behaviors and OSHA compliance. Document and communicate inspection results to site supervision. Identify and recommend solutions to hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions. Follow through to ensure 100% compliance and conformance. Coordinate and control the development and review of task hazard analysis (THA) and job hazard analysis (JHA) for each assigned projects. Identify safety needs and facilitate the necessary training as required. Provide technical, training, and administrative support on site-specific safety, health and environmental issues. Oversee and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations as they relate to company operations. Investigate accidents, near-misses, occupational injuries, and property damage claims. Compile data, take photos, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and required reports. Attend accident review meetings as directed. Conduct new hire safety training as needed. Issue various permits (i.e., confined space) as required. Accompany OSHA and other safety and health inspectors on walk-through tours. Document their activities and ensure prompt correction of all noted discrepancies. Develop positive relationships with field supervision and management through regular face-to-face meetings and communications regarding site safety progress. Provide surveillance services, as directed. Prepare, submit, file and maintain all essential safety paperwork accurately and thoroughly. Perform additional assignments as requested/needed. What you’ll need to be successful: Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all applicable federal, state, local and company regulations Required certifications: OSHA 510 or 511, First Aid/CPR Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures Experience in properly documenting accident and incident investigations Solid computer skills and ability to work effectively in MS Office Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work extended and irregular hours Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Brandt’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc. What you bring to the table: 4-yr. degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent combination of technical training and construction-related safety experience At least 2 years’ experience in construction safety management and/or industrial safety management Benefits: 401(k) Plan Competitive Pay Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Term Life, AD&D Insurance, and Voluntary Life Insurance Disability Income Protection Insurance Pre-tax Flexible Spending Plans (Health and Dependent Care) Holidays/Vacation/Personal Time/Life Events Leave Numerous training opportunities and company-paid membership for professional associations and licenses Southland Industries and all its subsidiaries are an
