Stanbridge University is seeking an inspiring and committed faculty member to guide students and foster excellence in the

Mental Health

component of the Vocational Nursing Program. Reporting to the Vocational Nursing Program Director, this role involves sharing your subject matter expertise and delivering clinical instruction aligned with an approved course syllabus, utilizing effective and engaging teaching methods that foster student retention and satisfaction. Faculty members will assess student performance throughout the course and document all course-related activities within the university's designated timelines.

Essential Functions:

Effectively deliver clinical and/or theory instruction utilizing provided course materials.

Develop teaching methods and strategies to engage students and promote clinical judgment skills.

Apply the clinical judgment model and theoretical principles to evaluate students' clinical competency.

Facilitate application and integration of theoretical principles, active participation in patient care management, and observation with active participation in professional roles for nurses in the clinical setting.

Ensure patient safety and compliance with policies established by the clinical agency.

Lead as a clinical resource, managing pre- and post-conferences, and engaging students in reflecting on their clinical experiences.

Create a professional environment that promotes student success through accountability, flexibility, passion, and integrity.

Show flexibility in style and work schedule, demonstrating a passion for teaching and engaging students.

Maintain and submit accurate student grades, reports, attendance, and feedback timely.

Maintain current knowledge of nursing duties and performance standards.

Participate in department meetings and shared governance committees.

Qualifications:

Current and active California RN or LVN license required.

Bachelor's degree required.

At least four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Experience in Fundamentals, hospitals, or skilled nursing facilities preferred.

Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Up-to-date immunization records.

Salary range: $40-$50/hr, dependent on experience and education.
