Job Description:
The level and compensation for this position will depend on the type of licensure the incumbent possesses. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides individual, group, and family counseling to help clients identify and resolve personal chemical dependency issues. Utilizes assessment and diagnostic tools and forms to gather information related to client history for accurate assessments and treatment planning. Maintains precise documentation of counseling sessions and activities, complying with regulations and licensure standards. Educates clients on chemical dependency issues through sessions that may include presentations, films, chalk talks, etc. Consults with referral sources regarding client treatment and progress. Performs indirect client services such as correspondence, court reports, court appearances, charting, case reviews, treatment planning, telephone contacts, and fee monitoring. Participates in organizational responsibilities including meetings, committee functions, and inter-departmental collaboration. EDUCATION
Master's degree plus LCADC or CADC with a Bachelor's degree EXPERIENCE
Minimum of four years' counseling or related experience with individuals with chemical dependency. Knowledge of chemical dependency issues, including dependence history, psychosocial influences, treatment needs, and resources. Ability to interact effectively with diverse clients and professionals. Knowledge of regulations and licensure standards. Good interpersonal and communication skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
No unusual physical demands. May involve occasional exposure to threats or bodily harm from clients or families. Tasks may include exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue on an occasional basis. Time Type:
