Responsibilities
Work with Area Managers to promote safety ownership among field management.
Perform safety visits and inspections as per the East Region Safety Action Plan.
Assist in implementing all safety program areas and provide training and mentorship on safety practices.
Ensure the integrity of safety inspections, training, and reporting procedures.
Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction safety planning.
Develop and oversee safety documentation such as Activity Hazard Analyses, Daily Job Briefings, and Safety Action Plans.
Verify timely completion of corrective actions, review incident reports, and investigate OSHA recordables and high-loss incidents.
Coordinate with customers and vendors on safety issues.
Qualifications
Experience in gas or water distribution, substation, or utility construction preferred.
Must be able to travel.
Experience in managing EHS efforts for large projects with multiple subcontractors.
Competency in excavation, rigging, confined spaces, scaffolding, and fall protection.
OSHA 500/510 certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards.
Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis.
CPR certification preferred.
Knowledge of underground damage prevention.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Familiarity with PSEG, Elizabethtown Gas, and New Jersey American Water is a plus.
