Join the Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) as a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty member (Assistant or Associate Professor) in Economics.
Job Summary The Department invites applicants for a rank of assistant or associate professor in Economics with a start date of August 1, 2026. The position is rank‑based and pays commensurate with education and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
Conduct research in applied microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, labor economics, industrial organization, international economics, and related fields.
Engage in departmental, college, and university service.
Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer‑reviewed publications.
Qualifications
Terminal degree in Economics by the appointment date.
Ability to teach across multiple areas of economics.
Experience with data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, Python).
Demonstrated commitment to student engagement.
Professional certifications such as the NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE®) credential are desirable.
Relevant applied or policy experience is desirable.
