Lecturer in Anesthesia – Indianapolis, IU Health The Department of Anesthesia at Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health Physicians is seeking a full‑time Anesthetist to join our academic locations. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, enjoy working closely with faculty and learners, and will work under the supervision of a physician Anesthesiologist. The Anesthetist will administer anesthesia and anesthesia‑related care in accordance with a written practice protocol consistent with the American Society of Anesthesiologists Care Team Model. The position will host learners in obtaining clinical knowledge and experience.

Basic Qualifications

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant – Minimum Education:

Must have graduated with a Master’s degree from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program.

Must have passed the Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants or the CDQ examination (administered by NCCAA in collaboration with the National Board of Medical Examiners) and hold a current certification.

Must be current with CME credits as required by NCCAA timeline.

Must hold a current ACLS and PALS certifications.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – Minimum Education:

Must have graduated from Master’s level Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).

Must have passed the National Certification Examination (NCE) (administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists) and hold a current certification from the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Must hold a current ACLS and PALS certifications.

Master’s degree only.
