Full Professor in Religion and Global Affairs

– University of Notre Dame, Keough School of Global Affairs, Notre Dame, Indiana. This tenured, full‑time appointment includes leadership responsibilities as the Director of the Ansari Institute for Global Engagement with Religion. Location: University of Notre Dame campus Open Date: Sep 02, 2025 Deadline: Oct 17, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Responsibilities

Conduct research and teaching in religion and global affairs with emphasis on conflict, reconciliation, peacebuilding, and related topics. Provide intellectual and strategic leadership as Director of the Ansari Institute, guiding its research agenda, overseeing external grants and programming, and collaborating with other Keough School units and the broader university community. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and public engagement, contribute to policy-relevant scholarship, and teach at undergraduate and graduate levels. Contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on critical issues in global affairs. Qualifications

Ph.D. in history, political science, sociology, anthropology, or a closely related field with demonstrated expertise in religion and global affairs. Record of distinguished scholarship and teaching sufficient for appointment at the full professor level. Demonstrated engagement with religious dimensions of peace and conflict (e.g., reconciliation, religious nationalism, or religious pluralism in divided societies). Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and public engagement; ability to position the university as a center for research and teaching on religion and conflict transformation. Ability to provide leadership and contribute to institutional strategy within the Ansari Institute and Keough School. Terms

This is a full-time, tenured appointment with administrative responsibilities and teaching expectations at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The position will begin in August 2026. How to Apply
