Greet guests warmly upon entry and over the phone; guide guests through ordering and payment procedures; and resolve guest issues in a positive manner. Maintain knowledge of Lawry's appearance standards, guest interaction procedures, table duties, side work, safety procedures, and the overall operation of the kitchen and dining room. Act as an ambassador of the restaurant and provide high-quality, professional guest relations and hospitality. Follow approved food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure guest and co-worker safety. Check and stock the front desk with necessary supplies; handle cash and credit card transactions; balance cash drawer; and assist with take-out service as needed. Answer telephone and fax orders, greet guests, seat guests, and assist with guest departures; transfer running bar tabs to the Dining Room Server as appropriate. Be familiar with the VIP Rewards program and support it as required. Maintain restroom cleanliness and safety, and communicate any issues to the Manager on duty. Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry's Restaurants, including family history, locations, service hours, and frequent diner benefits; demonstrate menu knowledge to assist guests in wine, meal, and dessert selections. Work with co-workers, management, vendors, and/or suppliers as part of a team; demonstrate competency in POS and TMX systems; perform basic math calculations. Arrive in a clean uniform, be ready to begin scheduled shifts, and work until the end of shifts unless approved for a schedule change. Perform other duties as assigned, such as maintaining dining room, bar, and restaurant areas or handling administrative projects. Qualifications
Shows confidence, energy, and enthusiasm with a professional, clean appearance and friendly demeanor. Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages. Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform duties and comply with health and safety regulations. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation; ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours; ability to lift up to 30 lbs (carry), up to 50 lbs (exert); endure repetitive motions. Willingness to work all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays. Basic knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails; ability to describe wine pairings and menu items; strong communication skills in English. Basic math and familiarity with uniform requirements and reliable transportation. Experience
At least one (1) year of restaurant service experience in a high-volume establishment is required. Licenses/Certifications
Current Local/State Food Handler’s Certification as required. Current Local/State Alcohol Beverage Service Training Certification as required. Education and Compensation
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; some college or culinary education beneficial. Salary Range: $16.50-$17/hour Additional details
