Hanna Instruments, a world-wide leader and manufacturer of scientific instrumentation, is seeking a full-time Sales Account Manager for California. The Account Manager would be responsible for managing target accounts, maintaining a long-term relationship with accounts and maximizing sales opportunities within them in California. A successful Senior Account Manager would possess strong communication, problem solving, and a high level of customer service skills in order to build relationships and drive revenue.
Job Responsibilities of an Account Manager:
Work with the West Regional Sales Manager to help achieve the overall targets for each segment in your territory as well as establish individual target account sales goals.
Develop a solid partnership between major key clients and Hanna Instruments.
Develop trusting relationships with target account customers to ensure they do not turn to competition.
Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
Work in partnership with an Inside Sales Manager and support staff to be best serve customers in California.
Visit account sites and develop future cadence with customers.
Coordinate pre-sales and post-sales follow-up.
Expand the relationships with existing customers by proposing solutions that meet their testing needs.
Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal stakeholders using territory and target account metrics.
Anticipate target account changes and respond accordingly.
Follow up on sales leads generated from trade shows, marketing campaigns, website and other sources.
Attend trade shows and assist in the selection and preparation of samples and promotional materials.
Manage communications between key clients and internal teams.
Strategic planning to improve customer results.
Work with Applications, Sales team, Marketing, Logistics, Managers, and Accounting to ensure the highest quality of sales and service are being provided and all customers’ needs met.
Collaborate with the inside sales team for hand over when new accounts are qualified as leads.
Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, and stakeholders.
Requirements and skills for an Account Manager:
Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry/biology or related work experience preferred.
Five + Years experience in outside sales and providing solutions based on customer needs.
Proven work experience and success in sales, key account management, or relevant experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
Excellent organizational skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Goal-oriented, organized team player
Must possess intermediate computer experience and experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong negotiation skills, with ability follow-through with customer
Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
Up to 50% travel required within assigned territory & trade shows.
