Position Summary
The Outside Sales Representative
is responsible for selling and/or obtaining specifications for TruWood Siding and Trim throughout an assigned territory region of the United States. Key Responsibilities
Responsible for creating primary demand for TruWood Siding and Trim products. Partner with company personnel, distributors, retail customers, and end users to assist in the promotion of TruWood siding and trim products. Work closely with distribution partners to develop sales campaigns and to provide information on market trends, pricing, customer needs, inventories, and key marketing opportunities. Focus on builders, architects, developers, framers, and general contractors as primary target market segments. Identify target stocking dealer, builder, and architect opportunities for follow up. Prepare and submit reports of sales activities and maintain records. Work with Product Performance Manager as required to assist in resolving complaints. Perform additional duties as required by supervisor. On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities. Travel extensively to develop relationships with potential and existing customers. Professional Experience
Knowledge of building and construction techniques and terminology. Proven sales experience in the building materials industry; specifically exterior products sold through a two-step process distribution for residential markets. A record of accomplishment selling products through distributors, nurturing relationships with dealers and builders, and generating profitable revenue growth. Education And Specialized Skills Profile
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong sales abilities. Entrepreneurial in nature with an assertive personality. Polished and able to achieve results by influencing others. Proven experience/success in field sales and a “home” office environment. Environmental and Behavioral Profile
Frequently work on projects that require deadlines. Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk and talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally stand, sit, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work location is remote. The product being sold in this position is produced in Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA in a manufacturing environment. Ability to travel on short notice. The physical criteria for many of the tasks in this job description require the ability to walk a large plant site and climb stairs.
