Overview
Cardiometabolic Account Specialist (CAS) – Gainesville, FL. Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr. Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a leader in RNA-targeted therapy with a history of innovation in genetic medicine. This role is a field-based position responsible for the launch of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within the respective territory and requires deep knowledge of the healthcare market and the Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community, including key customers and accounts treating cardiovascular and lipid-related diseases. Responsibilities
The CAS will understand the objectives and needs of each customer and will achieve this by building, maintaining, and leveraging networks within the local healthcare system to develop and execute effective business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals. Serve as a cross-functional teammate, building trust and collaborating with a diverse team while operating in compliance with Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes and drive the launch of the first wholly owned Ionis product. Customer Engagement and Experience
Educate HCPs and office staff to raise FCS disease state awareness, educate on diagnostic pathways, and instill urgency to treat FCS. Create positive prescribing experiences through value-added resources and patient support materials and programs. Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on FCS disease state and treatment. Market Knowledge
Gather insights to profile accounts and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform product sales and marketing strategy. Understand local referral networks and patterns for FCS patients. Identify and document potential HCPs treating FCS to inform commercial strategy. Account Planning
Develop and execute territory strategic account plans to maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction. Build insight-driven tactics by understanding brand requirements and needs of key customers including endocrinologists, cardiologists, and sub-specialties that treat FCS patients. Adjust strategies to meet business goals in the assigned region and develop plans with field and brand leadership. Training
Participate in field meetings and training programs to understand brand messaging, FCS, and customer engagement tactics. Certify on approved label, compliance training, and applicable customer engagement policies. Adhere to the company’s mission, policies and procedures, including the Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. Teamwork
Partner with cross-functional teammates to address customer needs and ensure high standards for customer and patient experience in a compliant manner. Share learnings with other field team members and leadership. Engage customers compliantly through multiple channels and platforms to enhance their experience. Collaborate on accounts with patients seen by multiple specialties across geographies. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of experience in pharma sales with New Product launches, account-based selling, HCP and IDN engagement, and cross-functional field team coordination Prior experience independently managing a sales territory Background in cardiology, endocrinology, or related sub-specialties that treat FCS Familiarity with the FCS community Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs Benefits
