Position Description The scholar will lead research projects linked to detecting large-scale ocean biogeochemical changes using a combination of remote sensing, modeling and in situ observations. Project/Position Description The postdoc will use a combination of ocean color remote sensing observations from the new satellite PACE as well as biogeochemical models to understand current and future changes to ocean elemental cycles. Perks Of The ESS Department And UCI Campus The Earth System Science Department at UC Irvine is highly interdisciplinary. It includes 30 faculty with broad expertise, all devoted to the study of the Earth as a coupled system. Qualifications Basic qualifications

(required at time of application) An expected or recent Ph.D. in oceanography, remote sensing, or geoscience. Scientific experience with biogeochemistry or related field Experience with ‘big data’, modeling or other computationally intensive approaches.
