Provide real-time Oromo-English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings. Interpret accurately, impartially, and with professionalism in immigration and legal contexts. Maintain confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards. Handle both scheduled and urgent/surge requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Oromo and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, NGO, medical, or government preferred). Strong cultural knowledge of Oromo-speaking communities in East Africa. Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and impartiality standards. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance. Compensation & Benefits
