Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store or stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing electronic article surveillance, and driving a shrink-elimination culture in the store. The role includes preparing accurate case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform duties in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They should demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates, and remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Prevent financial loss caused by theft and fraud; monitor store security; review CCTV and exception reports; audit Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS); and drive a shrink-elimination culture in the store. Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; interact with law enforcement; and testify in criminal and civil court actions as required. Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty; carry out job duties in a way that minimizes risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates; stay focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection and operational responsibilities.
Qualifications
Ability to identify incidents of theft and fraud; review CCTV and exception reports; and monitor store security. Experience in preparing case reports, preserving evidence, and interfacing with law enforcement. Willingness to testify in criminal and civil proceedings as required. Commitment to safety, environmental program compliance, and ethical conduct.
