Our Ski and Snowboard School youth division (Cub Club) operates a ski and snowboard rental service for Cub Club students ages 4-12. This is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. The Cub Club Rental Lead position oversees the daily operations of equipment fitting in Cub Club, as well as other tasks and projects related to the Ski & Snowboard School. This position requires positive and collaborative guest and staff interaction while maintaining a professional demeanor. We are looking for a person who excels in guest service, a willingness to learn technical aspects of skiing and snowboarding equipment, and a passion for winter sports to share.

Welcome all guests in a friendly and professional manner Provide exceptional customer service with an emphasis on creating a fun and friendly environment for children Maintain and organize daily rental legal paperwork and verify equipment check-out and check-in Responsible for outfitting all guests (ages 4-12) with rental equipment and explaining proper usage and safety features Obtain binding certifications for all ski and snowboard equipment in Cub Club Perform regular maintenance to insure proper functioning rental equipment Responsible for organization and inventory of all rental equipment and learning area materials including fencing Maintain a clean and safe Cub Club rental room and shared space Coordinate with Ski & Snowboard School Supervisors to schedule staff for work assignments in the Cub Club rental department Train qualified instructors to obtain required binding certifications Communicate with Ski & Snowboard School Supervisors regarding relevant rental department concerns and issues Record and report hours worked by instructors in the Cub Club rental department Assist running the Cub and Panda Magic Carpets Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
Detailed and solution oriented with an enthusiastic attitude Experience working in guest services, rental/repair shop, or with children a plus Advanced organizational, leadership, and communication skills Team player who can develop strong working relationships Individuals must be 18 or older due to binding certification requirements
Work Schedules
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees.
When conditions are normal, the expected commitment is 20-35 hours per week including weekends and holidays. Additional hours are available through teaching lessons and participation in training. During busy periods – particularly the holiday periods – you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy roads.
Working Conditions
Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
This position requires the physical fitness to ski and/or snowboard for five to seven hours a day and be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Uniforms
A professional appearance at Bear Valley Mountain Resort is required, and most uniform items will be provided for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.
You will be required to provide some items as part of your job, including skis/snowboard, boots, helmet and eye protection – all in good condition and working order.
Housing
Some shared housing options are available to qualified Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees who can pass a background check and sign a lease agreement. Please indicate whether you are interested in receiving more detailed information on housing.
The skiing/riding employee represents a model of safety for guests and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safety procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain. Seniority level
