Post Doctoral Fellow (Dr. Meng Zhang's Lab - SOM: Urology)

Emory University invites applications for the Post Doctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Meng Zhang (SOM: Urology) at Emory University. The Zhang lab focuses on studying alterations of RNA transcription, processing, and translation in tumor cells to understand cancer progression and therapy resistance, and to identify potential therapeutic targets.

The ongoing research directions include: 1) Investigation of microproteins’ roles in aggressive prostate cancer; 2) Epigenetic mechanisms of oncogenic gene upregulation driven by non-canonical promoters; 3) Discovery of novel druggable regulators of DLL3.

The lab integrates clinical genomics, CRISPR-based functional genomics, and molecular biology to investigate RNA biology in cancer initiation, progression, and resistance.

The principal investigator is Dr. Meng Zhang, who has a strong multi-disciplinary background across molecular and computational biology and collaborates across Emory and beyond. Opportunities for career growth and authorship are expected. You will work directly with Dr. Zhang, receive mentorship and training in research techniques and professional development, lead independent projects, engage in multidisciplinary collaborations, and have opportunities to learn bioinformatics under guidance. The lab offers generous start-up funds and values a collaborative and supportive culture.

Requirements for this position include an in-person work arrangement at an Emory location; remote work is not an option.
