The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the leave replacement position of Secondary AIS Math Teacher at Seven Bridges Middle School effective immediately. Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math with an emphasis on the ability to support students in the area of mathematics Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving STEAM experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades 5 through 8 Work in partnership with teachers & staff, modeling consistent, effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM, and online tools Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between mathematics, computer science, and other fields of study Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences Empowers students as creators as they create artifacts of their learning that engage them in critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic real-world problem-solving Leverages collaborative spaces by promoting inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and community Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth Participates in setting the school district’s vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners Certification
