The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying and researching private and government grant opportunities that align with Viability's strategic funding priorities. They will craft professional, compelling, and results-driven grant proposals and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs). To inform their work, the Grant Writer will develop a strong understanding of Viability's mission, services, culture, programs, and values.
They will collaborate closely with organizational leaders, program directors, and other key stakeholders to gather necessary information and insights. The role also involves conducting thorough research, utilizing internal data and external sources to build strong, evidence-based cases for support. Accuracy and timeliness are essential, as the Grant Writer will be responsible for fact-checking all proposals to ensure they meet funding criteria and submission deadlines.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, writing, communications or other relevant degree required with at least 3 years of experience. More extensive professional grant or proposal writing experience with a proven track record of success in securing grants may be substituted. Demonstrated grant-writing proficiency is required, including grammar, punctuation, word use, sentence structure, organized presentation (flow), clarity, and persuasiveness.
Verbal communication must be equally confident, effective, and professional. Experience researching and sourcing grants is necessary. Demonstrated value of our mission is also required. Strong project management, tracking, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required, along with drive, initiative, and resourcefulness to get things done.
