Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any GED Testing Program. Florida State Statute mandates that all high school coaches hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate. Applicants without a valid Florida Educator Certificate must obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education. Knowledge of the sport and the ability to impart this knowledge. Responsibilities
Operate a program within the philosophy of the school. Administer game details for home and away contests. Assign specific duties to assistant coaches. Ensure communication of information and materials to assistants. Be aware of legal responsibilities, take precautions against negligence, and inform staff accordingly. Provide care, maintenance, and ordering of equipment and facilities. Recommend assistant coaches and letter winners. Use professionally sound coaching methods. Set a good example for assistants. Be highly competent in rules, techniques, strategies, and skills. Motivate staff and players towards goals. Maintain wholesome public relations within the school and community. Interpret the program to the community as part of the educational program. Review current developments and sources related to job responsibilities. Adhere to safety procedures. Perform duties as assigned by the principal or athletic director. Follow federal and state laws, and School Board policies. Physical Requirements
Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. Terms of Employment
Salary and benefits as per the District's compensation plan. Work year and hours established by the School Board. Note:
