Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 5203) – GameStop Join to apply for the Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 5203) role at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences and sharing product knowledge. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including handling changes, providing receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service and adherence to standards. Approve payroll, process time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising; ensure fixtures/equipment are in working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing or end of shift as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor. Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to leadership. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and as part of a team. Meet performance expectations for attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system and basic math skills; complete required paperwork accurately; follow instructions; financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical duties as required. Benefits and Compensation
