Position Summary The Research Assistant will support faculty research and quality‑improvement projects. The RA will support the research team through IRB submissions, support participant recruitment and onboarding, facilitate data collection & management (quantitative and qualitative), and production of dissemination materials (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks).

Essential Functions

Prepare and submit IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews

Maintain regulatory files and consent/assent documents

Create recruitment materials; screen, enroll, and track participants

Schedule and support focus groups/interviews (reminders, recordings, incentives)

Build and manage REDCap/Qualtrics surveys and databases

Enter, clean, de‑identify data; run quality checks

Conduct basic quantitative analyses; assist with qualitative coding

Generate tables/figures and brief results summaries

Draft and format manuscripts, abstracts, and posters; manage references

Coordinate team meetings; take notes and track action items

Communicate with partners and students; uphold confidentiality and data security

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required.

Master's degree or current enrollment in a graduate program in Nursing or a related discipline preferred.

Prior experience assisting with research activities (e.g., data collection, qualitative or quantitative analysis, literature review, IRB submissions, or project coordination) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with faculty, students, and community partners.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical research standards and IRB protocols.

Working knowledge of basic research methods, data management, and analysis procedures (qualitative and/or quantitative).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with research software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS) preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented academic environment.

Initiative, reliability, and problem‑solving ability in managing multiple project tasks and timelines.
