Responsibilities
Consult with parents, teachers, district mental health staff, administrators and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students.
Support students through a variety of service delivery models including individual, small group and classroom.
Communicate with families and provide support in locating and receiving resources.
Participate or facilitate meetings or activities related to school or student needs as necessary.
Help establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing.
Meet with Teachers, Teacher Assistants and other specialists to discuss individual student\'s modifications or adaptations, ongoing learning issues, interventions or problems. Work collaboratively to ensure individual student\'s needs are met.
Actively participate on problem solving and intervention teams to facilitate early involvement and resolution to learning or behavioral problems, as needed.
Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
Participate and lead when appropriate staff learning and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth.
Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses or conferences.
Plan and instruct students on District and state standards aligned curriculum.
Develop lesson plans and goals that meet District expectations.
Job Summary Perform functions to provide support to the instructional process by supporting students in their social emotional growth and mental health. This is a 1 year only, full-time position.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement in one or more core content areas, or in School Counseling, or in Social Work.
Rate of pay:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. 25-26 Teacher Salary Schedule can be found here: IPEA 2025-2026 Salary & Stipend Schedule
