Base pay range:
$46,177.00/yr - $51,256.00/yr
Additional:
Teacher Assistant $1000 Sign-On Bonus!!!
Position Summary Under the direction of the Managing Associate Teacher and site leadership, assists in planning, organizing, and implementing education services for children, including classroom teacher duties and developing individual educational plans.
Responsibilities
Ensure a safe, emotionally supportive environment following NAEYC Code of Conduct.
Use active supervision strategies indoors and outdoors.
Support implementation of the Center’s schedules and policies.
Maintain understanding of Head Start standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
Collaborate on lesson planning and classroom activities.
Maintain compliance with regulations and adapt as needed.
Develop developmental portfolios for each child, including screenings and observations.
Conduct home visits and parent conferences to discuss child development.
Support social skills and self-help development during family-style meals.
Collaborate with support staff for children with disabilities and developmental needs.
Attend trainings, meetings, and community events.
Maintain a safe and well-equipped classroom environment.
Assist with health and safety checks and implementing individual education plans.
Recruit and guide volunteers.
Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development with Level 4 ECE and IT credential, or
Baccalaureate degree with Level 4 ECE and IT credential.
Knowledge of Head Start, early childhood practices, and bilingual education.
Recent physical exam including TB test, background checks.
Personal qualities: emotional maturity, cooperation, respect, patience, hygiene, health.
Experience with parent collaboration.
Additional Requirements
Analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with technology and online record systems.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Working Conditions
Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and move actively with children.
