Nurses are needed to teach in a variety of clinical settings. Clinical rotations are available Monday through Sunday for both day and evening shifts. Click here to learn more about the Galen difference Position Overview: Nursing faculty are responsible for engaging in the full scope of the academic nurse educator role. Responsibilities include facilitating learning and learner development; using assessment and evaluation strategies; curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; evaluating program outcomes; ongoing development of the nurse educator role; engaging in scholarship; developing and functioning as a leader and change agent; and operating within regulatory and accrediting requirements. Key Responsibilities
Creates an environment that facilitates learning and achievement of student learning and program outcomes. Implements teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs and context. Helps students develop as nurses and embody professional values. Assesses and evaluates student learning across settings and domains (cognitive, psychomotor, affective). Analyzes assessment data to inform continuous course improvement. Implements curriculum with program SLOs to guide instruction and evaluate progress. Designs and implements program assessments to promote continuous quality improvement. Participates in professional development to enhance faculty effectiveness. Maintains professional practice knowledge related to nursing education. Demonstrates commitment to the College’s mission and values of excellence, compassion, accountability, and inclusivity. Other essential responsibilities as outlined by the applicable state board of nursing. Position Requirements
Active, Current, Unencumbered Licensure: Registered Nurse in the applicable state per the State Board of Nursing Education Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; BSN-prepared nurses may be considered depending on campus needs Experiential Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical RN experience, per the State Board of Nursing Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment
Position may involve hazards related to clinical instruction (needle sticks, exposure to blood and bodily fluids). Requires mental activity, planning, and decision making. Settings are primarily sedentary in classroom/office with occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs). May require evening or weekend hours and travel to clinical sites and extended classrooms. Benefits
