We are seeking a hands-on
EHS Engineer
to join our team in Henrico, VA. This role is perfect for an experienced safety professional who thrives on the production floor, works closely with teams, and drives a proactive safety culture. You’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is not a desk-only role — we’re looking for someone who is engaged on the floor, working side by side with production and maintenance teams to create a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace. Key Responsibilities
Support, implement, and improve EHS programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments on the production floor. Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; lead root cause analyses and corrective action plans. Facilitate employee safety training and toolbox talks; coach teams on safe work practices. Collaborate with supervisors and production staff to ensure compliance and resolve EHS issues in real-time. Maintain EHS records and documentation, including incident reports, training logs, and compliance records. Monitor use of hazardous materials and waste disposal to ensure environmental compliance. Assist with emergency preparedness planning and drills. Act as a key resource for regulatory inspections and customer audits related to safety and environmental performance. Qualifications
3–4+ years of experience in EHS, safety, or related technician/specialist role within a manufacturing environment (electrical manufacturing experience a plus). Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and general industry safety requirements. Hands-on experience conducting audits, training, and incident investigations. Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, engaging with teams. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on corrective actions. Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety credentials are preferred but not required.
