Michael Foods, Inc. located in Wakefield, Nebraska is known as the Baseball Capital of Nebraska. Milton G. Waldbaum and Dan Gardner founded our egg-processing business in 1950 here in Wakefield. Our location raises chickens and produces tankers of liquid egg to be consumed by our processing facilities. Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
: This position is responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation of the breaking areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation of department area. Accountable for performing daily, weekly and monthly master sanitation schedules for department area. Responsible for daily pre-op inspections. Responsible for following daily production start-up procedures. Cross-trained in two sanitation jobs. Report any equipment/mechanical problems. Able to use team efforts when inspecting area. Adheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for following duties of the plant goals without being prompted. Ability to follow good manufacturing practices (GMPs), proper protective equipment (PPE), and lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) guidelines without being prompted. Capability to reference the CP Manual for questions about the sanitation program. Has knowledge of and understands why we use chemical handling procedures while handling chemicals such as caustics, acids, quats, bleach, and peracetic. Capability of conducting effective pre-op to RTE standards. Ability to consistently titrate correctly. Able to perform other duties as assigned. RESUMEN DEL PUESTO
: Este puesto es responsable de la limpieza general de los equipos y del saneamiento de las áreas de las quebradoras. DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES: Responsable de la limpieza general del equipo y del saneamiento del área del departamento. Responsable de la realización de los programas maestros de saneamiento diarios, semanales y mensuales para el área del departamento. Responsable de las inspecciones preoperatorias diarias. Responsable de seguir los procedimientos diarios de puesta en marcha de la producción. Formación cruzada en dos puestos de trabajo de saneamiento. Informar de cualquier problema mecánico/de equipo. Capaz de utilizar los esfuerzos del equipo al inspeccionar el área. Se adhiere a las prácticas de trabajo seguras, siguiendo las GMP, manteniendo las condiciones sanitarias y asegurando que se mantenga la calidad del producto. Informa a la dirección si alguna condición o práctica puede afectar negativamente a la seguridad alimentaria, la calidad de los alimentos o la seguridad del personal. Es responsable de seguir los deberes de los objetivos de la planta sin que se le solicite. Capacidad para seguir las buenas prácticas de fabricación (GMP), el equipo de-protección adecuado (PPE) y las directrices de bloqueo y etiquetado (LOTO) sin que se le indique. Capacidad para referirse al Manual de CP en caso de preguntas sobre el programa de saneamiento. Conoce y entiende por qué utilizamos los procedimientos de manipulación de productos químicos mientras manejamos productos químicos como cáusticos, ácidos, cuats, lejía y peracético. Capacidad para llevar a cabo un preoperatorio eficaz según las normas de RTE. Capacidad para valorar correctamente de forma consistent.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Less than high school education. Previous sanitation experience a plus but not required PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Good communication skills. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Capability to understand and follow oral instruction. Must be able to perform multiple tasks at a time. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments. Open to change. Positive interpersonal relationships. Able to work independently and with others in a team environment. Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. Displays responsible behavior at work. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of safely lifting 75 lbs. on occasion. Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments. Ability to tolerate constant motion. Able to climb and move above, below and into tight spaces. Ability to work in high humidity conditions and around USDA required cleaning solutions.
