Overview
Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking a research associate to support our Consumer Growth & E-Commerce team. The position is located in New York City. The role involves developing and marketing equity research products, including research reports, models, and industry analysis. The associate will work with the lead analyst and another research associate on the team.
Responsibilities
Write and produce equity research reports, company initiations, and marketing presentations—often under tight time constraints.
Build and maintain integrated I/S, B/S, and C/F models and organize industry data with strong attention to detail.
Support research product development, including models and industry analyses, and assist in marketing equity research products.
Work with internal sales and trading teams and external clients, requiring strong communication and professionalism.
Initiate and accomplish projects independently with a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with effective time management.
Utilize PC skills: strong Excel, with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and Factset.
Qualifications
Strong background in accounting and a keen eye for detail to aid in the creation of research.
Exposure to equity research is preferred; FINRA registrations are preferable; pursuing a CFA is a plus, though all qualified candidates will be considered.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
Strong financial modeling, accounting, valuation, and quantitative skills.
Passion for the stock market and equity research; familiarity with financial markets is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and initiate and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple projects.
Compensation For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range. The current base salary range is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses and other forms of compensation.
