Aug 05, 2024 The Department of Agricultural Sciences and the South Carolina Water Resources Center at Clemson University invites qualified candidates to apply for one Postdoctoral Research position. Location: South Carolina Water Resources Center, Pendleton, SC. Project detail: The successful candidate will develop water demand projections and statistical and numerical models to study water management challenges in different watersheds in South Carolina. Results from this work will be incorporated in the next state water plan. Responsibilities include: collection and analysis of spatial and temporal data develop projections prepare high quality maps and charts prepare detailed reports present at stakeholders' meetings collect feedbacks and make necessary adjustments explore econometric analysis of water demand assist with data dashboard development prepare journal articles The hire will also have the opportunity to work with graduate students and collaborate on grant proposals. Qualifications Minimum requirements include a PhD in with strong focus on hydrology or water resources planning and management, or agricultural economics with focus on econometric analysis pertaining to water resources planning and management; statistics; programming skills (preferably in R or willingness to learn R and RShiny); GIS; and good presentation and writing skills (demonstrated by journal publications). The successful candidate should also hold a valid driving license and be willing to drive across the state to attend stakeholders' meetings. Occasional overnight stays may be required. This is a 1½-year position. Initial appointment will be for one year and renewable, contingent upon funding and performance.
