Location: 6431 Fannin Street, Houston, Texas 77030.

Funding: This position is funded by grants that constitute 50% or more of the total funding. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.

Position Summary Assists with day‑to‑day administrative project management and provides scientific direction for research projects of considerable scope and complexity.

Key Accountabilities

Coordinate day‑to‑day project management for research projects, including personnel, facilities, and supplies, to achieve desired outcomes, budgets, and timelines.

Prepare progress reports and grant proposals to private foundations and governmental agencies; work closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on grant submissions.

Prepare budgets, initiate re‑budgeting requests, and authorize expenditures for multiple projects; attend research‑planning meetings to prepare budget drafts for departmental leadership approval.

Prepare annual progress reports and applications for various committees and ensure staff receives proper training.

Maintain confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data, including patient and programmatic data.

Prepare draft reports and communications for department program/division leadership.

Interact with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.

Provide work administrative direction and guidance to administrative staff personnel within the department.

May review contracts and develop training.

Other duties as assigned.

Certification and Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of MS Office.

Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience None.

Physical Requirements Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological, or radioactive agents.

791.4. Residency Requirement: Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
