Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative supports new and existing customer sales and provides product support to outside sales representatives. Responsibilities include providing quotes and product dimension information both in person and over the phone. Essential Job Duties
Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, order placement, prices, quotations, complaints, and scheduling deliveries and installations. Initiate calls to customers to generate sales. Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work orders, credit returns, return authorizations, pick tickets, and service requests; file paperwork accordingly. Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products, obtaining pricing, specifications, uses, and availability information. Manage project schedules by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and customers. Check on back orders, resolve issues, handle billing problems, and compile data for closing. Handle special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists. Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers. Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School Diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of experience in the building material industry with basic product knowledge; 1+ years of inside sales experience preferred. Ability to operate computers, calculators, and cash registers; knowledge of building supplies, applications, and construction industry; strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; familiarity with inventory control. Ability to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
