Theatre Position Summary
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for our Theatre Technology and Design Program. MSU Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, with a diverse student body including nearly 60% first-generation students and over 55% students of color. Located in downtown Denver, we are a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), an INSIGHT into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award winner for 10 consecutive years, and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado. We are committed to serving a diverse undergraduate population and improving access to higher education for underrepresented groups. Responsibilities
Teaching courses in Theatre Technology and Design, primarily in-person, including: Delivering course content and preparing materials Grading and providing feedback on student work Addressing student questions and providing academic support Maintaining office hours Adapting to various modes of instruction Candidates should be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or related field + 6 years relevant experience, OR Bachelor of Fine Arts + 4 years relevant experience. Preferred:
MFA in Theatre or related field + 2 years relevant experience, OR MA + 3 years, OR Doctorate + 2 years. Terms of Employment
Part-time, at-will, teaching on a per-credit basis, usually semester-to-semester. Not eligible for university benefits. In-person teaching required upon hire. Salary
