This position will cover at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital.

This role may involve providing medical care at off-site locations including hospitals with which the practice is affiliated.

Responsibilities

Obtain and document a complete health and development history from the patient and/or family; perform and document an advanced physical examination and delineate problems and present data.

In collaboration with a licensed physician, order and/or perform special screening and diagnostic tests; analyze data and determine appropriate actions.

Explain procedures to patients/families and participate in patient teaching related to diagnosis and preventative health maintenance.

Assist in the formulation and implementation of the plan of care, including treatments, medications, referrals, and consultations; seek physician input when progress does not meet criteria.

Identify and manage acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians, following established protocols.

Maintain documentation and billing knowledge; provide in-services to clinical staff and assist in teaching students and residents in cardiology techniques.

Provide emergency treatment and initiate life saving measures as appropriate (BLS/CPR, ACLS).

May provide care at off-site locations and participate in developing policies and procedures as needed.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.

Current New York State license.

Other certifications such as BLS/ACLS may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Reasoning Ability : Solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.

Computer Skills : Proficiency with computer information systems.

Physical Demands : Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Work Environment & Travel This role operates in a professional office environment and may require travel to affiliated sites. Standard office equipment is used in daily activities. Travel is primarily local with some out-of-area or overnight assignments possible.

Salary $99,360.00 - $144,700.00 per year, varies based on experience, education and location.
