Job: Parenting & Family Program Home Visitor
Starpoint, a local nonprofit organization, seeks a Home Visitor for its Parenting & Family program in Fremont County. The home visits will be family-centered and strengths-based. They will focus on establishing a trusting relationship, assisting in strengthening parent/child attachment and relationships, assisting parents in improving their parenting skills and providing a safe and nurturing home environment, improving the family support system, supporting families' access to much-needed resources, and problem-solving within the family. The Home Visitor will assume the role of advocate for the parent and the child when needed. Requirements SKILLS & EXPERIENCE · Culturally effective capabilities for varying cultural characteristics and beliefs. · Understanding of family support and strengthening. · Understanding trauma-informed care and trauma-informed response. · Experience raising or caring for a child, youth, or adolescent with mental health or co-occurring disorders and has worked with multiple agencies/providers. · Divergent thinking when seeking resources, tools, and programs. · Ability to work with families on financial management, budgeting, and increasing income. · Ability to be a team player and work with diverse professionals. · Self-confident with the ability to empower with non-judgment. · Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management/ organization skills. · Demonstrate excellent technological/computer skills and must be comfortable with managing different database systems and meeting multiple deadlines. · Ability to work and handle crisis and secondary trauma. · Excellent at tracking and keeping clear documentation.
