Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an opening for a Security and Emergency Services Supervisor at the Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, Indiana. The Security and Emergency Services Supervisor will manage the department and is responsible for all security matters affecting the West side of the facility, including stationing of personnel, access control, random inspections, emergency response, conducting and managing criminal investigations, interactions with outside resources, traffic enforcement, and duties related to applicable U.S. Homeland Security and U.S. Maritime Security regulations in accordance with local, state, federal law and company policy. Responsibilities

Ensures the Security and Fire Departments take appropriate and reasonable measures to provide a safe working environment for employees and protect company and personal assets Supervises the Security and Fire Departments’ daily activities including scheduling and addressing employee issues Ensures the Security and Fire Departments comply with Cleveland-Cliffs Corporate Security Policies & Guidelines in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations Implements and manages security programs and develops the skills of personnel within the department May provide security-related support to other Cleveland-Cliffs facilities upon request Reports to the Section Manager Security and collaborates with Division and Department Managers, Local Police & Fire Departments, the United States Coast Guard, and other government or private agencies as required Maintains department responsiveness to the needs of the facility, its personnel, and the surrounding community Provides leadership and direction to the department Leads by example to reinforce integrity and ethical standards within the department Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field Proven manager of people with interpersonal, leadership, and strategic skills to empower employees and drive team success Minimum of five years’ experience in security, law enforcement, or emergency response Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree in law enforcement administration or a related discipline Minimum of five years sworn service as a municipal police officer in Indiana; or in a comparable sworn peace officer capacity with a recognized police agency Advanced law enforcement leadership training through the completion of a nationally recognized program (e.g., FBI National Academy, Northwestern University, Southern Police Institute) Certification in industrial security management such as the CPP designation (Certified Protection Professional) through ASIS International Five or more years of supervisory or administrative experience Five years or more of industrial security management experience in a large facility with a unionized work environment Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
