Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Support safety programs, report unsafe conditions or accidents to management.
Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with product questions.
Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflicts cooperatively and professionally.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow instructions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications Minimum Position Qualifications:
Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:

Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
