Performs a wide range of duties related to the origination of residential mortgage loans for Financial Center offices and outside referrals. Meets standards and objectives set by management for personal mortgage loan sales and cross-selling. Responsible for the entire mortgage loan process from application to closing for personal production. Manages team production and oversees day-to-day activities of Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs). Collaborates with Fulfillment Operations to drive volume. Ensures risk is managed by adhering to policies, raising concerns, and maintaining a high standard of integrity. Focuses on delivering a positive customer experience and operates within the bank’s risk appetite by actively managing risks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops relationships with referral sources such as realtors, builders, and contacts. Creates a sales-oriented culture within the team. Builds relationships with Financial Center staff to generate business and referrals. Maintains knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage policies and procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides performance feedback, develops employees, and plans for succession. Manages a team of at least 5 MLOs, monitors production, conducts business plan reviews, and develops strategies for growth. Participates in sales calls, identifies system improvements, and ensures high customer service levels. Monitors compliance with regulations and standards, manages HR tasks, and oversees recruitment and training. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred. 2-4 years of residential mortgage sales experience. Knowledge of mortgage guidelines, processing, underwriting, and closing procedures. Understanding of federal lending regulations. Leadership, organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills. High integrity and ability to analyze policies and procedures. Strong sales, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Windows software; experience with mortgage systems. Ability to motivate, manage multiple projects, and adapt to change. Must have S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS at employment.
