SUMMARY: The Accountant II is responsible for supporting the preparation of financial statements and contributing to the timely completion and analysis of financial results through preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining multiple general ledger account reconciliations, performing analyses, and working with the Accounting team as well as other departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with maintaining financial records and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded by completing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts Coordinate accounting matters with other departments to resolve reconciling items and/or technical accounting issues. Evaluate internal systems and processes and recommend changes to improve efficiency. Prepare support for external and internal financial audits, as needed Support and back up other Accounting team members, as necessary SKILLS: Excellent communication and writing skills to interact with varying levels of management, financial professionals, and professional staff Critical thinking skills with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize Ability to prioritize and manage work processes/projects efficiently and effectively to meet set deadlines. Knowledge of general ledger accounting, practices, and principles. Prior NetSuite Accounting System experience is a plus, but not required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field Previous securities or related industry experience preferred Minimum of 3-5 years’ general accounting work experience required, with experience in a fast-paced environment CERTIFICATIONS: None INTERNAL APPLICANT POLICY: Internal applicants must be in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year of service with Kestra.
