Overview As part of the Consumer Lending team the Consumer Loan Processor plays a key role in delivering our members products aimed at improving their financial wellbeing. Responsibilities include working closely with our members through the fulfillment and funding process for all consumer loan products. This person will collaborate internally with the Consumer Underwriters, Branches and Member Contact Center representatives. The successful candidate must display a high level of integrity, communication, initiative, and problem resolution skills. This person must have strong time management, and organizational skills to manage a large pipeline of loans.
Responsibilities
Effectively manage a pipeline of various consumer lending loan products, which includes but is not limited to: auto loans, unsecured personal loans, secured personal loans and credit cards.
Serve as a member liaison during the fulfilment process, providing timely updates.
Calculate income (review bank statements, decipher tax returns, verify employment).
Accurately communicate all document and data requirements to fulfil the loan.
Communicate professionally with members, internal team and external third parties
Ability to read credit reports and interpret information for members
Calculate loan to value and debt ratios
Review required documentation to ensure information provided satisfies procedural requirements and is in alignment with current policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines
Obtain and verify the required Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) forms to properly record the credit unions lien on the collateral and/or make any updates to title
Review approved loan terms with the member prior to funding
Identify and properly escalate irregularities and inconsistencies as one of the lines of defense in fraud prevention
Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures
Achieve and maintain department/organizational goals related to quality, production and member satisfaction
Perform other duties as required
Assume responsibility for work assignments
Maintain positive engagement
Qualifications
Must have HS Diploma/GED
Previous consumer or mortgage lending experience preferred but not required
Prior customer service experience
Ability to mathematically compute rate, ratios and percentages
MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent customer service skills, both verbally as well as written
Must excel in a fast-paced environment
Well organized, team-player, self-motivated and flexible with working hours based on volume
Ability to multi-task and detail oriented
Target Base Pay $27.00/hr
