Job Overview The Universal Banker is a core front‑line role at First Federal Lakewood’s retail branches. Candidates may apply for Level 2 or Level 3 positions. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, handling teller and branch operations, and driving sales of the bank’s products.

Responsibilities Level 2 Duties and Responsibilities

Operate the teller window, maintain cash balances, and comply with branch operation guidelines.

Open and close basic accounts and services, cross‑sell products, and refer customers for investment, mortgage, and business banking products.

Participate in team meetings, complete training, and stay current with all assigned systems, software and procedures.

Assist with back‑office duties such as basic reporting, ATM balancing, night/mail deposits and vault maintenance.

Escalate complex customer issues to Level 3 bankers and perform express teller duties following branch operation guidelines.

Float to other branches as required.

Comply with all bank policies, statutes and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.

Level 3 Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise assigned employees, coach and develop staff, and manage performance relative to company goals.

Assist the Branch Manager with day‑to‑day operations, including reports, policies, scheduling and security.

Serve as subject‑matter expert on advanced banking duties: escalated complaints, loan applications, closing processing, and regulatory disclosures.

Handle branch administration, audit preparation, vendor management and report generation.

Lead team meetings, drive team performance and educate staff on systems such as Digital Banking, wire transfer and Webcapture.

Carry out community and industry engagement activities.

Float to other branches as needed.

Maintain compliance with all bank policies, statutes and regulations.

Qualifications Level 2

2‑4 years of banking experience, including cash handling and customer service.

0‑2 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience (preferred).

Strong understanding of banking laws and regulations.

Notary Public is preferred.

High School Diploma (required).

Proficiency in MS Office and other banking software (required).

Driver’s license (required for float positions).

Level 3

3‑5 years of banking experience, including cash handling and customer service.

Experience as a supervisor, mentor or team leader (required).

Strong understanding of banking laws and regulations (required).

Notary Public and NMLS number (required).

High School Diploma (required).

Proficiency in MS Office and banking software (required).

Driver’s license (required).

Physical Environment

Lifting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and moving up to 25 pounds.

Noisy environment is quiet to moderate.

Retail bank setting with required overtime and weekend work.
