Casualty Claims Unit Manager - PIP/MedPay
Overview Join to apply for the Casualty Claims Unit Manager - PIP/MedPay role at AAA Auto Club Enterprises. This role will manage the First party MedPay/PIP Team. This management leadership position is typically responsible for managing four to ten Claims Teams, or it can manage specialized functions within the Claims business unit. The primary functions include effective loss and expense management, employee development and succession planning, training, staffing, performance measurements and continuous improvement. The position also ensures compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements as well as company technical and customer service Best Practices.
Responsibilities
Ensure all claims within the unit meet or exceed quality and regulatory requirements. Regularly review appropriate claim files for quality and monitor results of audits, performance reports and customer survey data. Implement corrective actions to address deficiencies.
Recruit and develop people to accomplish goals. Oversee/participate with management in recruitment to ensure appropriate staffing. Identify and implement staff development and training to support succession planning. Provide timely coaching and performance counseling.
Provide opportunities for professional growth and expand staff responsibilities. Delegate authority appropriately. Align decisions with corporate and Claim Division goals.
Communicate goals with direct reports. Monitor and reinforce behaviors that advance technical and customer service performance. Seek innovative approaches to address organizational issues.
Ensure effective communication by the unit management team with internal and external customers. Address customer service issues promptly and professionally.
Prepare reports and statistical data on performance, cost, staffing, and resource allocation. Attend meetings to evaluate work product and project progress.
Participate in committees and projects to advance organizational goals.
Qualifications
Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience – Preferred
7-9 years Claims handling and/or operations – Required
4-6 years Management/Supervisory – Preferred
Advanced organizational and planning skills; advanced oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively lead change
Valid Driver's License, acceptable DMV record, and minimum liability insurance as issued by state – Required
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter – Insurance Institute of America – Required
Travel
Occasional travel to off-site business meetings or conferences (about 5%).
Compensation and Benefits The starting pay range for this position is $106,200.00 - $156,400.00. You will be eligible to participate in the incentive program based on organization, team and personal performance.
