We work with a diverse set of clients and use a variety of Milliman products and tools to advance actuarial practice and client outcomes. What You Will Do
On a day-to-day basis, the Actuarial Analyst will work autonomously and with project team members to execute key analyses for ongoing projects. They will be expected to produce high-quality analytical work, including complex data manipulation and summarization in Excel. Supplemental programming, statistical, and database skills are valued and can provide opportunities for impactful client assignments and advancement. The analyst should demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, and intrinsic motivation. An up-and-coming actuary who enjoys the technical aspect of the field as well as presenting results and recommendations will thrive in this role. Actuaries in this practice are expected to pursue Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) credentials and will receive time and monetary support to pursue examinations. What We Are Looking For A minimum of two actuarial exams passed at the time of application, pursuing an Associate credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society Up to two years of professional property and casualty actuarial full-time work experience in pricing and/or reserving for North American and/or European companies Bachelor’s degree or higher with quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, etc. Proficiency with Excel and Word Experience with statistical and modeling tools such as R, @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, STATA, etc. Personal Qualifications Strong critical thinking, technical and analytical skills Attention to detail and dedication to technical accuracy Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple client needs across concurrent projects Ability to clearly articulate questions and ideas Leadership and creative thinking abilities Intellectual curiosity about risk, Milliman, and the work of our practice Commitment to producing high-quality, professional work with accuracy and integrity Self-starter with excellent time management and collaboration across time zones Preferred Qualifications Mastery of programming languages such as R Working knowledge of database and tools such as Access and PowerPoint Location
This role is based out of Milliman Wakefield, MA or Burlington, VT offices. Candidates must be willing to work in-person; however, flexible work arrangements may be considered. Travel may be required, including nationwide travel for meetings, conferences, and team events. Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $60,300 - $126,840. Massachusetts: $66,330 - $116,270; Vermont: $60,300 - $105,700. A combination of factors will determine final compensation, including education, exams, experience, qualifications, skills, and certifications. Milliman Benefits
