Overview
Senior Accountant (Hybrid | Public & Nonprofit Sector) – Round Rock, TX area. Hybrid schedule (primarily remote with occasional on-site work for training or special projects). Base pay range: $31.83/hr - $36.54/hr. Applications are being reviewed; actual pay depends on skills and experience. Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; prepare journal entries and account analyses. Support month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and audit preparation. Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation. Track and monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support grant and fund accounting functions, including allocations and reporting. Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and improve financial accuracy. Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal control policies. Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and external audits. Minimum Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation). Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying engaged with a collaborative team. Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory or team lead experience. Experience working in nonprofit, government, healthcare, or grant-funded environments. Familiarity with fund accounting, cost allocations, or multiple program cost centers. Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar. Key Competencies
