Overview
The Cost Accountant will play an integral role in helping to ensure standard costs are accurate and up to date. This individual will analyze job costs and variances and will work cross functionally to identify and remedy the sources of the variances, improving efficiencies and profitability. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will assist with the entry and ownership of master data within the ERP system. Key Responsibilities
Review production job costs for accuracy prior to the jobs being closed out. Analyze and report on variances, working with various other departments to understand what is driving the variances and what can be done to reduce or eliminate them. Review and update standard costs for items as necessary. Assist with entry of select master data into the ERP system. Assist in the month end and year end close processes by performing journal entries and reconciliations. Assist in the annual budgeting process and subsequent periodic review of actual to budget. Serve as a backup for other accounting functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable. Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 2-5 years related experience Seniority level
