Pay rate: $30.00 - $60.00/hr Hours: 8-5pm, M-F Location: Portage, WI - As Multi-site controller, they will be responsible for both the Portage, WI and Poestenkill, NY facilities. Portage will be the home location with periodic travel to Poestenkill. Duration: 4 months (coverage for a leave) Summary: The position oversees financial policies, internal controls, and improves business processes to support growth and profitability in the Life Sciences sector. Acts as a key member of the site leadership team, serving as the plant manager’s right-hand. Provides financial analysis and strategic recommendations, acting proactively as a business partner to aid management decision-making and enforce accountability. Responsibilities: Lead the annual RF1/3 forecast and budgeting process, explaining significant variances and analyzing actual vs. forecast. Ensure timely month-end reporting and strategic planning to enhance profitability. Provide detailed and factual data to identify problem areas quickly. Manage month-end close processes, prepare and approve entries, and ensure accuracy of the balance sheet. Lead the standard cost development process to ensure transparency of costs and margins. Ensure all plant accounting activities comply with policies and sound practices. Support manufacturing operations, focusing on process improvement and operational support. Skills/Experience: Promote safety, PPE use, incident reporting, and participate in safety meetings. Follow environmental practices and EMS requirements. Develop and conduct training sessions for teams and individuals. Experience in manufacturing FP&A, forecasting, planning, and analysis. Proactive, providing needs before being asked. Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and systemic thinking skills. Solid understanding of accounting, finance, and business topics. Ability to interpret manufacturing and commercial strategy impacts on finance. Experience in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting preferred. Develop internal controls and processes in complex organizations. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, QAD, or ORACLE. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred. Knowledge of cost accounting. 3+ years in a manufacturing plant as Cost Accountant or Plant Controller. 3+ years in a finance or operational analyst role preferred. CPA preferred with 5-10 years of experience. Strong project management skills and execution focus.
