We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes. Job Summary: We are looking for a Full Charge Controller to manage all aspects of our financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-cycle accounting, a deep understanding of QuickBooks Online, and the ability to lead financial strategy while working collaboratively with our team. This role will report directly to the Owner and play a critical role in supporting the company’s growth and financial health.
Key Responsibilities: Full-Cycle Accounting:
Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end closings. Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making. Reconciliations:
Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly. Payroll Management:
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate reporting of hours, overtime, bonuses, and commissions benefits, as well as benefit and garnishment deductions. Sales Tax and Compliance:
Manage sales tax calculations, filings, and payments, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Supervise the AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections, while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships. Loan and Debt Management:
Record and reconcile loan payments, monitor debt schedules, and ensure timely payments and accurate reporting. QuickBooks Expertise:
Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and maintain accurate financial records. Audit and Compliance:
Prepare for and support internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. Team Leadership:
Collaborate with the estimating and other departments, fostering a team-oriented environment and providing guidance on financial processes and best practices. Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, implement best practices, and enhance internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications: Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a full charge bookkeeping or controller role managing full-cycle accounting. Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred. Skills: - Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. - Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel e.g., pivot tables, and other Office applications. Leadership:
Proven ability to lead and collaborate with a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and drive financial strategy. Compliance Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, sales tax requirements, and financial compliance, with experience preparing for audits.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in the restoration, construction, or service industry. - Familiarity with franchise financial operations and compliance requirements. - Experience implementing process improvements or internal controls in a small to mid-sized business.
