MSA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior Accountant
to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position combines strong analytical ability with deep technical knowledge of accounting principles to provide insight, guidance, and solutions that drive organizational success. Responsibilities
What you will do: Project Responsibilities Assist with research and analysis regarding project financial status.
Provide timely contract performance data to project personnel.
Resolve financial issues in collaboration with internal and external project teams.
Technical Performance Reconcile asset and liability accounts; investigate discrepancies and assess risk.
Prepare journal entries, balance sheets, income statements, and special reports in compliance with GAAP, FASB, FAR, and other standards.
Audit documents and substantiate financial transactions.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial planning.
Implement new accounting policies and maintain internal controls.
Act as the primary point of contact for auditor requests.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Provide guidance to accounting clerical staff and respond to accounting procedure inquiries.
Contribute to special projects as needed.
Business Performance Support strategic and financial goals through analysis of finances and operational metrics.
Assist in the development and implementation of systems, procedures, and policies.
Provide insights that influence business planning, forecasting, and performance improvement.
Qualifications
What you bring: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience; A/E industry background a plus.
Skills & Knowledge Intermediate to advanced technical accounting knowledge and financial statement analysis skills.
Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with accounting software required.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management preferred.
CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.

The salary for this position ranges from $70,369 to $112,590 per year commensurate with experience.
