Job Duties
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification. Assists in preparing departmental administrative budgets for control and appropriations covering four separate fiscal years as determined by federal, state and local community development grants or funding sources; ensures that all charge backs are utilized (indirect costs, overhead, administrative cost, etc.); monitors account balances and expenditures to ensure they remain within budgetary limits. Prepares all required documentation and reports required by funding requirements (e.g., overall costs, recoverable costs, overhead data, etc.); ensures that all reports generated are complete and accurate. Posts, balances and reconciles all fiscal data (e.g., cash balances, pay-ins, disbursements, expenditures, etc.); reconciles account and line item balances with the County Fiscal Officer's staff records of accounts; makes balance corrections as needed; conducts in house audits pertaining to grant fund activities (rehabilitation and demolition); recommends fund transfers as needed to maintain workable balances; utilizes data entry/retrieval equipment to accomplish tasks. Performs research tasks to gather data to be used by other staff members in compiling information needed for grant applications (e.g., income, demographics, census data, grading, point system data, etc.). Assists in the formatting of new computerized financial and statistics programs; coordinates with programmer staff the needs and requirements of computerized database systems; verifies test runs of new or revised programs to ensure output meets the needs of the user; recommends changes in programs as they arise.
