Position Overview:
We are seeking a
full-time Local Controller with experience in nonprofit
to join our Indianapolis team. You will be responsible for managing the accounting functions for multiple clients throughout the Indianapolis area.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating knowledge of industry trends and identifying client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to clients and the team. - Prepare engagement deliverables such as financial statements, technical accounting memos, account reconciliations, and other work papers; assist the engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on-time delivery and on budget. - Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, and alternatives. - Understand the client’s organization, procedures, and internal policies. - Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development. - Manage and retain multiple client relationships, engagements, and special projects. - Responsible for billing and realization on assigned clients. - Supervise, train, and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively within or leading a team. - Foster a team environment; demonstrate support of management and decisions and build a positive culture. - Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field. - Experience in accounting roles within the construction or nonprofit sectors. - Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments, and prioritize each assignment as necessary. - Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. - Proficient use of applicable technology.
