Associate Economist

Full Time (2 year guaranteed due to Government Contract with the possibility for long-term hire)
Position Summary The Associate Economist will research, analyze and evaluate fertilizer industry and economic information supporting staff research projects, work assignments, and the TFI’s statistical program. The Associate Economist works with member companies to compile, analyze and publish large data sets and reports. They will also be responsible for responding to data or information requests from other divisions within TFI, association members, state and federal governments and agricultural association partners.
The Associate Economist may also research, gather information, and compile data pertaining to the fertilizer industry, agricultural markets, state and federal legislation and regulation, as well as national and international economic developments. They will often collaborate with other TFI staff on research publications or other TFI projects that analyze fertilizer industry and economic trends and conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis:
Gathering and interpreting data related to economic trends and theories.
Research Support:
Assisting with developing research projects, designs, and analyses.
Report Preparation:
Preparing clear and concise reports and presentations on research findings.
Database Maintenance:
Contributing to the upkeep and development of databases and economic models.
Literature Reviews:
Conducting literature searches to support research.
Policy Analysis:
Assisting with the analysis of policy options and the development of economic models.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Supporting communication with stakeholders and reporting on outputs.
