Base pay range $17.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Hours and Availability Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (in office). Must be available on Saturdays 9:00 am -1:00 pm.
Summary Responsible for providing superior service to our customers, handling their Teller and Personal Banking transactions in an accurate timely manner. Services customers’ financial needs in order to maintain and develop profitable customer relationships with the Branch/Bank. UBI role will provide assistance on the Teller line by maintaining a cash drawer and servicing customers approximately 80% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sells or participates in the selling of bank products and services following established guidelines and procedures. Promotes additional business from existing customers.
Identifies customer needs, explains product features in terms of benefit to the customer and recommends the product or service which best meets the customer’s needs.
Provides basic information and answers customers’ inquiries concerning bank products and services.
Exhibits strong working knowledge of all retail bank products and of general banking terms in order to provide the customer with a clear and accurate explanation of account parameters as outlined in our Consumer Disclosure.
Attendance is a requirement of the position.
Provides courteous and efficient service.
Processes checking and savings transactions, cashes checks within the specified limits and policies, accepts loan payments; sells Personal Money Orders, and Cashier’s Checks, processes mail deposits, night depository deposits, ATM deposits and armored courier deposits as required.
Accepts and verifies loose and rolled coin from customers. Is accountable to properly bag loose coin in appropriate dollar amounts for shipment to Main Cash Vault, collects appropriate coin counting fee from customers.
Processes transactions as a Drive-Up/Walk-Up Teller.
Maintains supplies and balances the ATM.
Counts, proves and packages currency according to established and accepted cash handling procedures (measurement through adjustments received from the Federal Reserve Bank and through observation from the Main Cash Vault.)
Balances cash drawer and accurately prepares Teller blotter.
Maintains cash drawer security at all times.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of products offered as well as basic features and benefits.
Researches and resolves routine account problems or errors. Investigates files, documents, or reports on transaction to determine the problem and cause of action.
Authorizes overdrafts, approves checks for cashing and processes transactions within established limits.
Performs file maintenance for commercial and retail customers in accordance with branch operations procedures.
Takes request for check orders and debit cards and re-orders.
Accepts and performs wire transfers in accordance with bank operations policy and authority limits.
Understands branch’s retail goals, his/her individual goals and achievement.
Develops ideas to promote new business and increase customer base.
May assist with handling teller transactions, including balancing currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed.
Follows bank and regulatory policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Specifications All duties and responsibilities must be performed in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines. This position does NOT take residential loan applications. This position does NOT offer or negotiate terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain. This position may provide general explanation, information, or descriptions in response to consumer inquiries (such as explaining terminology or lending policies). As such, this position is NOT required to be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008. Supervisory Responsibilities: Reports directly to the Market Manager.

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of retail bank experience, including sales and cash handling.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or touch. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office environment. Light and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
